saturday afternoon stroll

I took a little walk in my neighborhood today. I like that, where I live, you can escape the city in about ten minutes and walk along the river, enjoy the last couple of summer sunbeams and watch people.

The woman sitting in her car with the window open listening to Roxette’s “She’s got the look”. With blond dyed hair, a lot of make-up and long fingernails.

Behind the bridge is where this little paradise starts. Walking along the water. Living in a city without any sea nearby always makes me miss it. The river helps a little.

Passing by a playground where kids are screaming for the attention of their parents. “I’ll jump now, Mama! Mama! I’ll jump now! Do you watch?!”

Then sitting in the grass, reading, watching the water, listening to the noise of the city far away.

When it gets too cold, because the sun decided to hide behind the houses, the walk home starts. Getting closer to the city, the wild animal, you love to watch from far away but don’t want to touch. But with a lot of energy.
